What is TB-500?
TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of the naturally occurring protein Thymosin Beta-4. This peptide has been extensively studied for its role in cell migration, angiogenesis, and tissue regeneration. Research applications include wound healing studies, cardiovascular research, and musculoskeletal repair investigations.
How Does TB-500 Work?
TB-500 works primarily by upregulating actin-binding proteins, which promotes cell migration, proliferation, and differentiation. It binds G-actin with high affinity, sequestering monomeric actin and facilitating cytoskeletal remodeling at wound sites. Additionally, TB-500 upregulates matrix metalloproteinases and promotes VEGF-mediated angiogenesis, enabling new blood vessel formation in ischemic or damaged tissue.
